What Is A Green Home?

Energy Efficiency

Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency is our main focus when designing and building a home. In the northeast, with cold winters and hot, humid summers, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) are major contributors to high-energy consumption. For this reason, a green home should be properly insulated, have high performance windows and doors, and should use renewable energy sources as much as possible.

It is extremely important that a green home be well designed to take advantage of passive solar heating & cooling and natural ventilation... both of which are free services provided by the sun and natural breezes that occur here in the northeast. We have all experienced passive solar heating before, feeling the warmth from a sun-drenched window in the middle of winter. Designed properly, that same technique can be used to heat an entire house. Not only does an energy efficient house save you money, it also lowers your carbon footprint and reduces global climate change.
