To us, a “Little Green Home” is one that is energy efficient, uses highly durable materials and puts an emphasis on a healthier quality of life. Not all of our projects are the new construction of little “green” homes but we honor conservation best-practices wherever we can. Our three core “Green” beliefs are evident in every renovation and improvement we make which reduces environmental impact and adds lasting value to the home.
Energy efficiency is a primary focus whether we are designing and building a home or providing renovation services. In the northeast, with cold winters and hot, humid summers; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) are major contributors to high-energy consumption. For this reason, a green home should be properly insulated, have high performance windows and doors, and should use renewable energy sources whenever possible.
It is extremely important that a newly built “green” home be well designed to take advantage of passive solar heating & cooling and natural ventilation... both of these solutions take advantage of free services provided by the sun and natural breezes that occur in our native region. To better direct our project recommendations and help home owners who are unsure where to start, we now offer energy audit services. Feel free to contact us to arrange an audit for you.
